Allow , or ; for a pause in Contact's phone number

We need to save a contact with extension for our clients. I would like it to work just like a cell phone where a comma is equivalent to 1 second pause and a semi-colon is equal to a 3 second wait. This way we can save our support number in the shared contacts as (xxx) xxx-xxxx;yyy where yyy is the VoIP department.
